Cimarron River Outfitters has several types of aquatic terrain for duck and goose hunting.  We hunt flooded wheat fields, sloughs, small ponds and from traditional blinds on some of our larger ponds. We also have some flooded woodlands and milofields.   Our waterfowling starts out fast and furious with the arrival of the green and blue winged teal.  Season opens in early September, lasting a full three weeks.  We have managed waterfowl hunting so over-crowding on our ponds will not be an issue.   For more information on this process, please refer to our Waterfowl Manager.

Duck and Goose seasons open in mid October with Duck season running into January and Goose season going into February and April depending on dark or light.  We hunt zone 1 in your Oklahoma Waterfowl Guide.  As of this printing, regulations haven't been released.

Our fall duck season was a great one with new properties being acquired we had an abundance of places to hunt and thousands of ducks cupping their wings into our spreads.  Pintails, Mallards, Canvasbacks, Widgeons, and Redheads start arriving as early as September and keep coming throughout the season.  Record numbers are arriving year after year.

Our fall goose season was a tremendous one.   Record numbers of geese are migrating south and wintering on or near the Salt Plains N.W.R. each year. The refuge regularly turns in reports of 250,000 plus geese each week through the season, millions of waterfowl winter here every year. Our club maintains properties minutes from the refuge that offer hunters the opportunity to limit out on a load of greater honkers like these being hefted by David Havis below.

Be sure to count what you shoot and make sure your within your limit per duck.  For limits, go to the Oklahoma Hunting Regulations page.  We have dozens of ponds in different areas.  Some of the ponds have built in blinds.

Above left is Bryan, Steve and Kevin pose an afternoon hunt during early season.  By November, this blind was half way under water as well as the one across the pond.  This flooding situation makes for excellent duck hunting.   Above right is Kevin, Todd, Bryan and David after a morning hunt.

We recommend G&H Decoys for goose and duck, they are the highest quality, most realistic and longest lasting decoys on the market.
